A major milestone was achieved by the certification of the
quality management system according to ISO 9001.
Saw the merger of Theodor Vanck GmbH with its sister company Fiberdur GmbH to create Fiberdur Vanck GmbH. A crucial development for the company was the major investment in a new winding technology enabling it to significantly improve the laminate quality.
The winding plant was commissioned in the newly constructed production hall.
The company first ventured into European markets at the
start of the 2000s.
For example, it built a clean gas duct on site at a Greek power
plant. For this project, the company used the vertical winding
plant it had developed in the 90s.
Christen & Laudon GmbH merged with Fiberdur Vanck GmbH at the Staffelstein location and has since continued to use its current name, Christen & Laudon GmbH.
Christen & Laudon was one of the first FRP processors to achieve certification according to the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23 EC. The subsequent years were characterised by the production of large tubes and cooling water pipes for power plants. These large-scale construction site projects with component diameters of up to 9 metres using the mobile winding plants were carried out mostly in Poland and Germany.
Saw the manufacture and supply of approx. 4kms of FRP pipes for the renaturation of the Emscher river. For this project, special compositions of the FRP were developed which enables subsequent unmanned inspection of the entire pipe.
Post 2015 saw a noticeable decline of the power plant construction activities.
Since 2018, Christen & Laudon has been focusing on the manufacture of individual large vessels, flue gas scrubbers and apparatus made of FRP and FRP/Liner.
By expanding the product capacities and know-how, the company successfully increased its product range with the production of apparatus and vessels made of a PFA/FRP composite for use with ultrapure chemicals.
